The screen shot here is just an example of the coolness of this application for the iPhone.  The Wikipedia links give information valuable to the traveler and tourist.

Google Earth lets people virtually fly around a 3D view of the world made from satellite and aerial imagery mapped onto the planet’s mountains and valleys. The iPhone version reproduces this core experience, downloading imagery from Google’s servers as the perspective shifts and dotting the map with landmarks, photos, and other information.

What is your favorite application for the iPhone, Treo, or G1 phone?  Or what do you wish they come up with next?

Emiliesilloutte_2On day five we went to the Getty Villa museum on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu.  What an amazing place.  The artifacts were all ancient antiquities.  With Greek art, of course this was a chance for sex education for our kids. Well, not intentional, but a lot of nude statues and interesting scenes on pottery.

For my mom and, once again, you stalkers, here are photos.

We saw the Reagan Presidential Library (our 3rd POTUS library we have seen so far) and the Airforce One exhibit.  Two things stuck out–the plane was cool and not as fancy inside as you would think (no mahogany paneling), and in the Oval Office replica a note I remember seeing as a kid on the president’s desk saying “It CAN be done.”

Also, the Cold War stuff is history and my kids are learning about it.  Really, those days were scary compared to today’s security threats.  I loved these two pics I put up on this post:  Leninade drink, and my son exploding.

A much better day, with a drive down PCH to LAX where we are staying.  Seeing the Getty museum today.

For my mom and stalkers…picasa and facebook photos.

Any of you remember the Cold War?
