There is a meeting tonight about the Summerhouse transitional housing development. Here is a Facebook page giving info on that. I am wondering if the initially support Temecula City Council will cave in to those who are misinformed.  Some think this is a magnet for neighborhood blight rather than an amazing tool to help local families who lose there homes have a place to restart. The Press-Enterprise reports:

A partnership of the city, BRIDGE, the Temecula Murrieta Rescue Mission and Riverside County wants to build 90 apartments — 18 one-bedroom, 42 two-bedroom and 30 three-bedroom — at the site.

Thankfully our local representatives in Temecula voted 4-0 to approve a transitional housing complex. Our cry in the suburbs is always tainted with “NOT in my backyard” and misinformation.

I support this, although I will disclose that do not live in walking distance to this development. If I did, would I feel differently? How about you?
